On this page, the methods for the management of the site are described in reference to the processing of the personal information of the users who consult it.
It deals with information that is provided including in accordance with Art. 13 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Code Regarding the Protection of Personal Information to those who interact with the web services of GAIA SPA,, accessible by means of telecommunications beginning with the address which corresponds to the initial web page of the official site of GAIA SPA.

The information is provided only for the website of GAIA SPA and not additionally for other websites that may be consulted by the user by means of links.

The information is also guided by Recommendation no. 2/2001 which the European authorities for the protection of personal information, meeting in the Group instituted by Art. 29 of Directive no. 95/46/CE, have adopted in order to identify some minimum requirements for the online collection of personal information and, in particular, the methods, the time periods, and the nature of the information which the holders must provide to the users when the latter are connected to web pages, regardless of the purposes of such a connection.

Location of processing of information

The processing connected with the web services of this site takes place as the aforementioned headquarters of GAIA SPA and is carried out only by personnel of the Office entrusted with the processing or by possible representatives for occasional maintenance operations.
No information derived from the web service shall be communicated or released.
The personal information provided by the users in the online services which they require is used for the sole purpose of carrying out the service or the requested service and is communicated to third parties only in the event that it is necessary for that purpose.

Type of information processed

Navigation information
In the course of their normal operation, the computer systems and the software procedures that carry out the function of this web site acquire some personal information whose transmission is implicit in the use of the protocols of Internet communication.
This has to do with information that is not collected to be associated with the interested party who is identified, but rather information that by its own nature could, by means of processing and associations with information in the possession of third parties, permit the identification of the users.
This category of information includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users that are connected to the site, addresses in URI notation (uniform resource identifier) of the requested resources, the time that the request is made, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file that was obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the state of the data response of the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the operating system and to the computer environment of the user.
This information is used only for the purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to control its correct function, and it is deleted immediately after processing.  The information may be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical computer crimes that damage the site.  With the exception of this possibility, information on web contacts currently does not remain for more than seven days.

Information Provided Voluntarily by the User
The optional, explicit, and voluntary sending of e-mail to the addresses indicated on this site involves the subsequent acquisition of the address of the sender that is necessary to respond to the request as well as any possible personal information inserted in the message body or header.
A summary of information specifics is progressively provided or displayed in the web pages arranged for particular services by request.

No personal information of the users in that regard is acquired by the site. Use is not made of cookies for the transmission of information of a personal character, nor are so-called “persistent cookies” of any type used, nor are systems used for the tracking of users.
The use of so-called “session cookies” (which are not stored in a persistent manner on the user’s computer and which disappear with the closing of the browser) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identification information (composed of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow the secure and efficient exploration of the site.
The so-called “session cookies” that are used in this site avoid resorting to other computer techniques that are potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of the navigation by the users, and they do not allow the acquisition of the user’s personal identification information.

The optional nature of providing information

Aside from that which is specified for navigation information, the user is free to provide the personal information listed in the request form to GAIA SPA or in any case indicated in contacts with the offices of GAIA SPA in order to solicit the sending of informational materials or other communications.
The absence of this information being provided may result in the impossibility of being able to obtain that which is requested.

Method of data processing

Personal information is processed with automated tools for the period of time strictly necessary to carry out the goals for which it was collected.
Specific measures of security are observed in order to prevent the loss of data, illicit or incorrect use, or unauthorized access.

Rights of interested parties

The subjects to whom the personal information refers have the right at any time to obtain the confirmation of the existence or lack thereof of that information and to know its contents and its origin, to verify its correctness, or to ask for its integration, its updating, or its correction (Art. 7 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003).

In accordance with the same article, they have the right to request the deletion, the transformation into anonymous form, or the freezing of information that is processed in violation of the law, as well as in any case, for legitimate reasons, to oppose its processing.
